Woman Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run crash in Panorama City

In a tragic incident that occurred on Friday night, a woman was fatally struck in a hit-and-run crash in Panorama City. The Los Angeles Police Department has identified the victim as a Hispanic woman believed to be around 60 years old.

According to authorities, officers received reports of a pedestrian being struck near the intersection of Roscoe Boulevard and Wakefield Avenue at approximately 6:05 p.m. When they arrived at the scene, they found the injured woman lying on the road. She was immediately rushed to a local hospital, but sadly, she succumbed to her injuries and passed away.

Investigators have determined that the woman was walking northbound on Wakefield Avenue in an unmarked crosswalk when the suspect driver, who was traveling westbound on Roscoe Boulevard, struck her. The impact of the collision sent her body into the air before she landed on the roadway. Shockingly, the driver fled the scene without stopping to help or identify themselves.
