Two Arrested in Albany on Drug Charges: Catherine Berhaman and Nasshaleek Browne Face Multiple Charges

Two individuals have been apprehended in Albany after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of illicit substances. Catherine Berhaman, a 38-year-old resident of Clifton Park, and Nasshaleek Browne, a 24-year-old from Albany, now face multiple charges.

According to the police, the incident took place on January 24 at around 9:15 a.m. when officers conducted a traffic stop on the 900 block of Central Avenue. This action was part of an ongoing investigation. During the stop, the driver, Berhaman, and the passenger, Browne, were found to be in possession of significant amounts of cocaine and fentanyl. As a result, both individuals were promptly arrested.

Berhaman is now facing two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.

On the other hand, Browne is charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Following their arrests, both Berhaman and Browne were arraigned at the Albany City Criminal Court. Subsequently, they were released.

It is important to note that the location where the traffic stop occurred, the 900 block of Central Avenue, has been a focus of ongoing anti-drug efforts by law enforcement agencies. These efforts aim to curb the distribution and use of illegal substances in the area.
