Deadly shooting in Salem Under Investigation by Indiana State Police

SALEM, Ind. – A fatal shooting that occurred in Salem in the early hours of Sunday morning is currently being investigated by the Indiana State Police (ISP) in Sellersburg.

The incident was reported to the Salem Police Department and ISP Troopers through a 911 call, informing them that a male had been shot inside a house on North College Avenue. Upon entering the residence, officers discovered an adult male with gunshot wounds lying on the floor. Unfortunately, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

24-year-old Blake Howard Henry of Salem, along with two adult females, was present in the house at the time of the shooting. All three individuals were taken to the Washington County Justice Center for questioning.

Preliminary investigations by ISP detectives suggest that the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute. Henry was subsequently taken into custody and charged with murder, and he is currently being held at the Washington County Jail.
