Quinones-Mendez is wanted on charges including Violation of the Uniform Firearms Act (VUFA), Theft, Obstruction of Justice, and Tampering with Evidence. He is considered armed and dangerous.

The shooting occurred around 8:45 p.m. when two officers entered the store and attempted to apprehend the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Alexander Spencer. A scuffle broke out, during which Spencer shot one of the officers in the leg. In response, the officer’s partner fired at Spencer, who was later pronounced dead.
