Man Arrested for Killing Wife and Burying Her Body in Delhi Field
In a horrifying incident in Northwest Delhi’s Ashok Vihar, a 26-year-old man has been arrested by the Delhi Police for allegedly killing his wife and burying her body in a field. The motive behind the murder was reportedly the death of their child due to anaemia last year.
The discovery of the woman’s body came to light on February 8 when a group of children playing in the area heard the cries of a dog trapped in a pit. As they attempted to rescue the dog, they stumbled upon the wrapped body of the woman. The children immediately contacted the police, who arrived at the scene promptly.
The accused, identified as Vicky, had been working part-time as a waiter in several hotels. He was taken into custody on February 10, while his mother and brother were apprehended the following day. According to the police, Vicky had been blaming his wife, Sapna, for their child’s death since September of last year. The constant arguments eventually led to him strangling her on December 25.
Under the cover of darkness, in the early hours of December 26, Vicky and his juvenile brother, with the knowledge of their mother, wrapped the woman’s body in a quilt. They then transported it approximately 100 meters away from their home to a field where they had previously dug a pit. To conceal the burial site, they covered the body with mud and waste materials.
The woman’s mother filed a missing person’s report on January 25 at the Ashok Vihar Police Station. A thorough search operation was launched, involving multiple police teams. However, it was the accidental discovery made by the children that finally led to the grim revelation.
The police have been conducting a thorough investigation into the case, gathering evidence and questioning witnesses. The accused and his family members will face charges for their alleged involvement in the crime.
This tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the importance of addressing domestic disputes in a peaceful and non-violent manner. The authorities are working diligently to ensure justice is served for the victim and her grieving family.
