Columbus Police Department Provides Answers in March 2023 Double Homicide Case
In an unfortunate turn of events, the Columbus Police Department has finally shed light on a double homicide that occurred in March 2023, bringing some closure to the case. The incident took place on Tuesday, March 7, around 11:35 a.m., in the 3000 block of Clay Street in Columbus, Georgia.
Authorities responded to a shooting at the aforementioned location and discovered the lifeless bodies of two females in the front yard of a residence. The victims were identified as 52-year-old Juantonja Richmond and 51-year-old Ronisha Anderson, both succumbing to fatal gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of emergency medical services, the victims could not be resuscitated, and they were pronounced deceased at 12:15 p.m. by Deputy Coroner Ben Saxon.
Given the gravity of the situation, the Violent Crimes Unit took charge of the investigation. The Columbus Police Department, in collaboration with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, conducted an extensive inquiry into the matter. Their findings revealed that the perpetrator responsible for the tragic incident was their neighbor, Solomon Adams.
Two days after the incident, it was revealed that the suspect, Solomon Adams, had died. Consequently, no arrests will be made, and no prosecution can take place.
