Police Blotter: Crimes and Incidents in Bald Eagle Township and Beyond
In the latest police blotter for Bald Eagle Township and surrounding areas, several incidents of theft, accidents, and harassment have been reported. Here are the details of the incidents that occurred in recent weeks.
A 38-year-old woman from Lock Haven was charged with retail theft after attempting to leave Walmart in Mill Hall with $49.34 worth of groceries. The incident occurred on February 8, 2024.
On February 4, 2024, a one-vehicle crash took place on Little Plum Run Road in Gallagher Township. The driver of a 2016 Mini Countryman lost control while negotiating a left-hand curve, causing the vehicle to roll over. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
A 41-year-old male from Jersey Shore was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol on February 3, 2024. The arrest was made by PSP Lamar on Draketown Road/Hogan Boulevard.
Hit and Run:
Daniel Kauffman, a 53-year-old resident of Mill Hall, was involved in a hit and run incident on Martins Grove Road in Beech Creek. Kauffman failed to negotiate a right-hand curve, entered a privately owned field, and got stuck in soft mud. After freeing his vehicle, he left the scene without contacting the property owner or the police.
Report of Child Abuse:
PSP Lamar assisted Children and Youth Services in investigating a report of child abuse that took place on Rauchtown Road in Crawford Township. The victim, a 4-year-old female from Jersey Shore, requires further information to aid in the investigation.
A 31-year-old male from Mill Hall was found to be in violation of a misdemeanor offense during a traffic stop at the intersection of W. Peale Avenue and Birch Alley on February 2, 2024. Charges are pending.
A 54-year-old male from Lock Haven reported an additional phone line added to his Verizon account without permission on January 31, 2024. Anyone with information regarding this identity theft should contact the police.
Theft of Motor Vehicle:
Lori Cross, a 47-year-old resident of North Bend, reported her vehicle stolen from the side of the road on Laurel Run Road. PSP Lamar later located the vehicle, but the investigation is still ongoing.
Fraudulent Fund Withdrawal:
PSP Lamar is investigating a report of funds being fraudulently withdrawn from the bank account of a 71-year-old male from Beech Creek. Approximately $17,000.00 was stolen from the victim between January 18 and January 25, 2024.
Child Abuse Investigation:
A report of child abuse on Frederick Street in Flemington is currently being investigated by PSP Lamar. The victim, a 3-year-old female, requires further information to aid in the investigation.
