Second Suspect Arrested in Waco shooting Incident

Waco, Texas – In a shocking turn of events, a second suspect has been apprehended in connection with a shooting incident involving three brothers. According to an affidavit, Ramiro Lara Zapata, a 17-year-old male, has been charged with several counts of aggravated assault, including spinal injury, assault with a deadly weapon, and causing serious bodily injury.

The first suspect, Antonio Renovato Jr., 19, was taken into custody on February 7 and is currently being held in McLennan County Jail on bonds totaling $357,000. Now, with the arrest of Zapata, law enforcement authorities are one step closer to bringing justice to the victims.

The incident occurred on February 3, when Waco police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1500 block of N. 11th Street. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the three brothers – Giovanny Lujano, Osiel Lujano, and a 15-year-old boy – were involved in a weapons exchange with two men.

During the exchange, one of the suspects allegedly seized Giovanny’s firearm and began firing at the brothers with their own weapons. As a result, Giovanny was shot in the thigh, while the 15-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the neck. Thankfully, the brothers managed to escape the scene and promptly contacted the police.

Through meticulous investigation, law enforcement officers uncovered crucial evidence linking Zapata to the crime. GPS data from Zapata’s ankle monitor placed him at the scene during the time of the shooting. Furthermore, a Styrofoam cup bearing the nickname “Flaco,” which is known to be used by Zapata’s family and friends, was found at the crime scene.

During an interview with the police, Renovato confirmed that Zapata had discharged his weapon during the incident, providing further corroboration of Zapata’s involvement. Currently, Zapata is being held at the McLennan County Jail, awaiting further legal proceedings.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers associated with illegal weapons exchanges and the potential for violence. The Waco community, along with law enforcement agencies, is committed to ensuring the safety and security of its residents.

As investigations continue, authorities will work diligently to gather all necessary evidence and bring those responsible to justice. The victims, Giovanny and the 15-year-old boy, are expected to make a full recovery, and the community stands united in supporting them during this difficult time.

In conclusion, the arrest of the second suspect in the Waco shooting incident marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation. The diligent efforts of law enforcement officers have ensured that those responsible for this heinous act will be held accountable for their actions.
