Anand Sujith Henry : Indian-Origin Couple & Twin Sons Found Dead in California: Police Confirm Murder-Suicide

Indian-Origin Techie Suspected of Murder-Suicide, Kills Family of Four

In a heartbreaking turn of events, the San Mateo Police Department (SMPD) has confirmed that a family of four was found dead in their California home in what appears to be a murder-suicide. The main suspect in this tragic incident is Anand Sujith Henry, an Indian-origin techie, who is believed to have killed his wife and their four-year-old twins before taking his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The bodies of Henry, 42, and his wife, 40, were discovered in the bathroom, both with gunshot wounds. The twin boys were found in the bedroom. The identities of the victims have been confirmed as Anand Henry (father), Alice Benziger (mother), and their minor twin boys. The police have determined that Henry is the primary suspect based on their investigation.

According to the SMPD, there is no history of violence at the family’s residence. They were alerted to the incident after being unable to reach the family over the weekend. The authorities estimate that the tragedy occurred on Saturday afternoon, February 10th, 2024.

During their investigation, the police found a legally registered 9mm handgun on the bathroom floor, near where the adults’ bodies were found. Benziger suffered multiple gunshot wounds, while Henry had a single gunshot wound. The cause of death for the twin boys is still pending pathology, but it has been determined that they did not die from gunfire or show signs of bodily trauma.

The SMPD is continuing their investigation to determine the motive behind this devastating act. They are also urging the community to seek help and support for domestic violence and mental health issues. They want to ensure that such a tragedy does not happen again.

It is unfortunate to note that incidents involving the deaths of Indian-origin individuals in the United States have been on the rise. John Kirby, the Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council in the White House, strongly condemned violence based on race, gender, religion, or any other factor, emphasizing that it is unacceptable in the United States.

This incident highlights the importance of addressing domestic violence and mental health concerns in our society. It is crucial to provide resources and assistance to those in need to prevent such devastating tragedies from occurring in the future.
