James Tickner : “Florida Arrest in Jones Co. Murder Case: Suspect in Custody, Victim Identified”

James Tickner, a resident of Taylorsville, has been apprehended in Florida by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department for his alleged involvement in the shooting death of 33-year-old William Leo Busker in Jones County on Sunday afternoon. The Jones County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Tickner’s arrest and stated that he is awaiting extradition back to Jones County to face charges of first-degree murder.

The tragic incident unfolded on Shiloh Church Road, where authorities responded to a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, they discovered Busker with gunshot wounds, and despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff’s department has identified the victim and notified his next of kin.

Investigator Cody Pitts is leading the ongoing homicide investigation into Busker’s death, with the sheriff’s department indicating that additional charges may be filed as the case progresses. The community has been left in shock by the senseless violence that claimed Busker’s life.
