Javon Norman : Teen Murdered in Florence Mall Robbery

In Florence, SC, a tragic shooting incident unfolded outside Magnolia Mall, resulting in the loss of a 15-year-old’s life. The events leading up to this heartbreaking incident were revealed through arrest warrants obtained by WMBF News.

Javon Norman, along with an unnamed 15-year-old boy, were arrested in connection to the shooting, while a third suspect is still being sought. According to the arrest warrants, Norman and the other suspects were captured on security footage engaging with Avery McDonald and others inside the mall before the shooting took place.

After leaving the mall, the suspects made their way to a gold Ford Escape, circling the parking lot before parking near McDonald’s Honda Accord. As McDonald and his companions entered the vehicle, two suspects approached, brandishing handguns and demanding valuables. Tragically, McDonald was shot in the chest during the attempted robbery and later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.

Following the shooting, the suspects fled in the Ford Escape, which was later located at Norman’s grandfather’s residence. Two of the victims in the Honda positively identified Norman as one of the perpetrators.

In a recent court appearance, Norman was denied bond by a judge, highlighting the seriousness of the charges he faces in connection to the fatal shooting.

This heartbreaking incident serves as a stark reminder of the senseless violence that can erupt in unexpected places. The community mourns the loss of a young life and seeks justice for the victims and their families affected by this tragedy.
