Juan Ordeñiza : “Barangay Bulacao Parking Lot Attendant Murdered”

A tragic incident unfolded in Sitio Cabancalan 2, Barangay Bulacao, Cebu City, where a caretaker of a private parking lot was fatally shot by an unidentified gunman. The victim, Juan Ordeñiza, a 63-year-old married man, was on his way back to the parking lot after buying liquor when the assailant approached him and shot him three times in the head and back.

Motive Behind the Attack:
According to Ordeñiza’s friend, Francisco Tabada, the attack may have stemmed from a personal grudge. It is believed that the victim had a dispute with someone over his role as the Aznar family’s parking lot caretaker. Police Major Jeciree Basitao, chief of the Inayawan Police Station, confirmed that witnesses were able to identify the offender, who had a history with the police station.

Eyewitness Accounts:
Tabada, who witnessed the crime, claimed he saw the suspect’s face but couldn’t recall it. However, he mentioned that he would be able to recognize the culprit if he saw him again. Another vendor in the area, who preferred to remain anonymous, mentioned hearing gunshots and seeing Ordeñiza fall to the ground.

Family’s Grief:
The victim’s younger brother expressed deep sadness over the loss of his brother, describing him as a kind individual without any known enemies. The Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team recovered three empty shells of a .45 pistol at the crime scene, indicating the type of weapon used in the attack.

Investigation Ongoing:
Authorities are currently conducting a hot pursuit operation to apprehend the suspect and bring justice to Ordeñiza’s family. The community is in shock over the senseless act of violence that took the life of a beloved caretaker. As the investigation continues, residents are urged to come forward with any information that may help in solving the case.
