Investigation Underway into Mysterious Deaths in Siaya County and Nairobi

Detectives in Kenya have launched an investigation into the mysterious circumstances surrounding the deaths of two men in separate incidents in Siaya County and Nairobi.

Unexplained Death in Siaya County Guesthouse

In Siaya County, a 61-year-old man, identified as Nicholas Ogol, was found dead in a guesthouse in the bustling Bondo Town. It was the guesthouse attendants who discovered his body on Tuesday morning. The cause of his death remains unknown, perplexing the local authorities.

Siaya County Police Commander, Cleti Kimaiyo, confirmed the incident, stating that the guesthouse caretaker had reported the unsettling discovery to the authorities. According to the police, the deceased had checked into the guesthouse alone around 8.00 pm on Monday. It was not until the following day, at approximately 10.30 am, that his body was discovered.

Among the personal effects found on the deceased, police discovered a set of tablets in his pockets, raising further questions regarding the circumstances of his death. The body has since been moved to the local mortuary, where an autopsy will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.

Suspected Suicide in Nairobi’s Ruaraka Area

In a separate incident in Nairobi’s Ruaraka area, a 39-year-old man, Nyandomo Nyabigo, was found dead in a lodging, in what is suspected to be a case of suicide.

The body was discovered on Tuesday morning by a cleaner who had entered the room for cleaning duties. Nyabigo had also checked into the lodging alone on Monday night.

Upon investigation, the police recovered a syringe with a needle and a bottle of pesticide from the room. These items are suspected to have been used by the deceased in the alleged act of self-harm.

The motive behind this tragic incident remains unclear. The body has been moved to the mortuary where an autopsy will be conducted, and further investigations will be carried out to ascertain the circumstances surrounding Nyabigo’s death.
