Narinder Kumar : “Burglary in Chandigarh: House Locked, Suspect Caught”

Burglary Reported and Suspect Arrested in Chandigarh

Chandigarh police have reported a burglary at a locked house in Hallomajra. The incident came to light after a woman lodged a complaint stating that her house had been broken into and several valuable items had been stolen. The suspect in the case has been arrested.

According to the complainant, she had been away from her house between November 5, 2023, and February 11 of this year. Upon her return, she discovered that her earrings, one gold bangle, two gold rings, and two mobile phones were missing. The house was also in disarray, with household items scattered on the floor.

Based on the complaint, the police registered a case under sections 380 (theft) and 457 (house-trespass) of the Indian Penal Code at the Hallomajra police station. During the course of their investigation, they apprehended the suspect, identified as Narinder Kumar alias Mannu, a 35-year-old resident of Sector-20/C.

The investigation into the case is currently underway, as the police work to gather more evidence and determine the full extent of the burglary.

In recent news, there has been a rise in house breaking thefts (HBT) cases in Thane, with the detection rate being only half of the cases registered. This highlights the need for increased security measures in residential complexes and for property owners and tenants to invest in comprehensive security solutions. Installing security systems and verifying credentials are some preventive measures that can be taken.

Additionally, cash and jewelry worth over Rs 7 lakh were stolen in two separate house burglaries in Nashik between February 3 and 5. These incidents serve as a reminder for individuals to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to protect their homes and belongings.

As the investigation into the burglary in Hallomajra continues, authorities urge residents to report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods to help prevent such incidents in the future.
