Family members have also revealed that Safadi was in the classroom with his twin brother when the attack happened. He bravely helped save his brother and other students present in the class. Brant pulled out a knife from his backpack and began stabbing Safadi multiple times. Despite others fleeing the scene, Brant continued to attack Safadi until he collapsed. Brant then proceeded to another classroom and stabbed another individual, who is currently hospitalized in critical condition.
Brant was pronounced dead at the scene, and the motive behind the attack is still under investigation. The officers involved in the incident have been placed on administrative leave while the investigation is ongoing.
