PITTSFIELD, Mass. (NEWS10) – The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has positively identified the human remains found on Lenox Mountain. Through dental records, the remains have been identified as Susan Lockwood, a woman who went missing while hiking on Lenox Mountain.
The discovery of Lockwood’s remains was made by a hiker and his dog on February 9. Inside a hiking boot, they found human remains. A Trooper and his K-9 partner were subsequently able to locate the rest of Lockwood’s remains, including a skull and personal items, on February 12.
Lockwood had been missing since October 30, 2023. Police have stated that they do not suspect foul play, but the cause and manner of Lockwood’s death remain undetermined.
