Blasie Sisneros : Potter County Sheriff Arrests Fugitive, FBI Probe Ongoing

Deputies from the Potter County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division made a significant arrest in Amarillo, Texas on Monday, Jan. 19. The fugitive in question, Christopher Nevarez, had an outstanding federal warrant for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Surveillance was conducted at an address believed to be owned by Nevarez, and when he drove by and recognized the law enforcement vehicles, he continued towards the area of 24th and Grand. A known felon, who was also wanted, was seen in the passenger seat of Nevarez’s vehicle. Nevarez eventually parked at a convenience store at 24th and Grand.

As deputies approached the vehicle and deployed a diversionary device, they successfully took Nevarez into custody. Another passenger, identified as Blasie Sisneros, was wanted for assault of a family member with previous convictions through the Office of Pardon and Parole. Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle, leading to the detention and subsequent release of a third subject at the scene.

The investigation into this case is ongoing and is being handled by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Potter County Sheriff’s Office.
