In a shocking turn of events, two gunmen unleashed a barrage of bullets during what was supposed to be a simple online sale meetup that quickly spiraled into an attempted robbery at a motel in Zion, Illinois.

The incident unfolded at the Shamrock Motel located at 1713 North Sheridan Road in Zion. According to reports, the Zion Police Department received a distress call on July 19 regarding shots being fired in the vicinity.

**Victim’s Terrifying Encounter**

The victim, who remains unnamed for safety reasons, had arranged to meet a man named Braylin D. Harper, 20, via Facebook to purchase vape pens for $100. Little did he know that this seemingly innocent transaction would take a dangerous turn.

**Demand for Money Escalates**

As the victim handed over $100 to Harper, another individual, identified as Levi J. Harris, 19, joined the scene. The duo then demanded the rest of the victim’s cash, which was approximately $650, in exchange for the vape pens.

**Violent Confrontation**

What started as a negotiation quickly turned violent as one of the suspects brandished a firearm while the other posed as if he had one. Fearing for his life, the victim attempted to drive away but was met with a barrage of gunshots from the perpetrators.

**Arrest and Legal Proceedings**

After a month-long investigation, Harris and Harper were apprehended by the Zion Police Department on August 19. Harris faced multiple charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, while Harper was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, attempted armed robbery, and other related offenses.

**Legal Ramifications**

While Harper was sentenced to eight years in prison in December, Harris, who has a history of criminal behavior, including a juvenile charge of armed robbery, is currently awaiting trial following a detention hearing.
