In a shocking turn of events, the lifeless bodies of a young man and woman were discovered on January 22 morning at the Mera Gaon Mera Desh resort in Kami village, Sonepat. The Tribune reports that the victims have been identified as Himanshu, a 26-year-old man from Ashok Vihar in Delhi, and Abduleva, a 32-year-old woman from Uzbekistan. They had checked into the resort around 8:30 pm on January 21.
The discovery was made when concerns arose over the couple’s absence from their room on the morning of January 22. Hotel staff peered through a window and were met with a disturbing sight – the lifeless bodies of the couple lying on the bed. Law enforcement authorities were immediately informed.
Sonipat Sadar police station in-charge, Karamjit Singh, told reporters that the exact cause of their deaths can only be ascertained after the post-mortem examination. Forensic experts were called to the scene to inspect the room and collect evidence. Among the items recovered from the room was a liquor bottle. Himanshu’s family members have also arrived at the scene, and their statements are currently being recorded.
