The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Nicholas Jordan from Detroit, Michigan, allegedly took the lives of two individuals, one of whom was a student at the university.

The heartbreaking discovery was made inside a dormitory where police responded to reports of gunshots early in the morning. The victims were later identified as 24-year-old UCCS senior Samuel Knopp and 26-year-old Celie Rain Montgomery, who was not a student at the university.

Despite the initial shock and horror of the incident, detectives have assured the community that there is no ongoing threat to the campus. They believe this was an isolated incident between individuals who were known to each other.

The university officials have expressed their deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims. Classes and regular activities have been canceled as the community comes to terms with the tragic loss. However, the campus remains open to provide support and comfort to students, faculty, and staff during this difficult time.

As the investigation continues, the community is urged to come together in support of one another. The hope is that through shared grief and solidarity, healing can begin for all those affected by this senseless act of violence.
