Shocking Incident: Air India Crew Member Shot Dead in Noida
In a tragic turn of events, a 30-year-old crew member of Air India, Suraj Mann, was shot dead by unidentified bike-borne men near a high-end market in Noida on Friday. The incident took place near the Sector 104 market when Mann came out of a gym and sat in his car. Eyewitnesses recounted the horror of the mid-day shootout in the posh neighborhood, with one witness stating that three men on a motorcycle attacked Mann after he came out of the gym. One of the assailants fired shots in the air, while the other targeted Mann, firing at least eight to ten rounds at the car’s window before fleeing the scene.
Authorities suspect that the murder could be a fallout of a gang rivalry involving Mann’s family. Mann’s elder brother is currently lodged in a Delhi jail, accused in a murder case. Police believe that the rival gang targeted Mann due to his family connections. However, sources state that while a few members of Mann’s family have a criminal history, Mann himself was not involved in any criminal activities.
Mann, who worked as a crew member with Air India, lived as a tenant in the posh Lotus Panache society nearby. Authorities have launched an investigation into the case and efforts are underway to identify the accused. Noida DCP Harish Chander informed that the man was rushed to a nearby hospital but unfortunately did not survive.
The police are also looking into the possibility of gang rivalry playing a role in the incident. The Sector 39 police station was alerted about the incident at around 2.30 pm, and a team was immediately dispatched to the crime spot. The body has been sent for post-mortem, and the man’s family is being contacted.
This shocking incident has left the community in shock, as the affluent neighborhood rarely witnesses such acts of violence. The police are determined to bring the culprits to justice and ensure the safety of the residents. As the investigation continues, the motive behind the attack remains unclear.
