In a devastating incident that unfolded in the Badarahalli area of Anekal taluk in Bengaluru, an under-construction school building collapsed, claiming two lives and leaving over 13 individuals injured. The tragic incident occurred during construction work on the second floor of the building, which was owned by St. Agnes educational institution.
The victims, identified as Minal (43) and Adil (31), both from West Bengal, tragically lost their lives in the collapse. Six of the injured were immediately rushed to hospitals in Bengaluru, while the remaining casualties are currently receiving treatment at Anekal Taluk Hospital.
The mishap took place while approximately 25 workers were engaged in constructing the second floor of the building. According to a worker at the site, the collapse was attributed to shortcomings in the centring work. The local police are actively investigating the incident to determine the exact cause of this tragic event.
Bengaluru SP Mallikarjun Baldandi paid a visit to the site and announced the initiation of a thorough investigation. Preliminary findings suggest that the construction entity may have been negligent in implementing proper safety measures.
