In a recent operation, the Balochistan Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has successfully apprehended a key accused involved in attacks on police in Quetta. This significant breakthrough has brought Abdul Hadi, also known as Amrullah, to justice. Hailing from the Zabul province of Afghanistan, Hadi is a key member of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and has been orchestrating the activities of the outlawed outfit in Quetta.
Operating alongside six associates, all of whom are Afghan citizens, Hadi is believed to be connected to a recent attack on a police van that occurred last month. The attack took place on December 26 in the Nawan Kalan area of Quetta near Pashtunistan Chowk. A hand grenade was used in the assault, resulting in injuries to a police assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and three innocent bystanders. Fortunately, the injured individuals were quickly attended to and are currently receiving medical care.
This arrest sheds light on the cross-border collaboration of banned organizations, emphasizing the need for continued vigilance and joint efforts to maintain security in the region. In a separate incident, the Immigration and Commercial Banking Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has thwarted an audacious attempt to smuggle a substantial sum of foreign currency at the Quetta International Airport. The FIA has escalated its efforts to dismantle criminal networks engaged in illicit currency trafficking at the airport.
The apprehended individual, identified as Abdullah Gul, was destined for Sharjah. The FIA’s vigilant actions have prevented the illegal flow of funds and further criminal activities.
