Seventeen individuals are facing charges for their alleged involvement in a drug trafficking ring that smuggled large quantities of narcotics into the Los Angeles area. The suspects used a clever method of concealing the drugs within fire extinguishers, which were then transported in semi-trucks across the U.S.-Mexico border. The drugs involved in this operation included fentanyl, methamphetamine, and heroin.
This extensive investigation, known as Operation “Smoke Jumpers,” spanned over two years and resulted in 13 seizures. Law enforcement authorities seized a staggering amount of narcotics during this operation, including approximately 680,992 fentanyl pills, 3 kilograms of fentanyl powder, 17 kilograms of heroin, and 10,418 pills containing methamphetamine.
