Lashanda Kay Schwarcbher : “Fatal Asheboro Hit-and-Run: Woman Arrested”

A woman wanted in connection with a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian has been apprehended by authorities in Asheboro, North Carolina. The tragic incident occurred on Friday morning when deputies responded to a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian on Oakland Avenue. The victim, identified as 45-year-old Billy Glenn Medford, Jr., was found unresponsive at the scene and later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.

Following an investigation, 44-year-old Lashanda Kay Schwarcbher, also known as Lashanda or Lashonda Kay Hicks, was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. Initially evading authorities, Schwarcbher was eventually apprehended on Saturday at Robbin Lane in New London by the Criminal Apprehension Team.
