Matthew Gray : “Violent Incident at Corbin Dealership”

The Knox County Sheriff’s Department recently had a run-in with 20-year-old Matthew E. Gray of Corbin, KY. It all went down on a Wednesday morning at the Legacy Ford Dealership parking lot in Corbin. Deputy Jeremiah Williamson responded to a call about a suspicious man trying to break into a vehicle.

When Deputy Williamson arrived on the scene, he spotted Gray attempting to gain entry into a car. Gray must have realized he was busted because he tried to make a run for it on foot. But the deputy wasn’t having it and chased him down.

A scuffle ensued, with Gray putting up a fight, but Deputy Williamson managed to subdue him and slap the cuffs on. Gray was then taken to the Knox County Detention Center to cool off.

The charges against Gray piled up pretty quickly. He was hit with charges like fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, assault on a police officer, and menacing. And as if that wasn’t enough, they also found a bag of suspected heroin and some pills on him, leading to additional charges for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

It’s a good thing the deputy was able to get Gray under control before things escalated further. The police department did a great job handling the situation and making sure the community stayed safe.

Events like this serve as a reminder of the hard work and dedication our law enforcement officers put in every day to keep us all safe. Let’s show our appreciation for their efforts and continue to support them in their mission to maintain law and order in our communities.
