Tragic Plane crash Claims Lives of Three in Southeast Ohio

In a devastating turn of events, a small plane carrying three individuals crashed shortly after takeoff in southeast Ohio, claiming the lives of a father, his son, and a family friend. The victims were identified as 44-year-old pilot Daniel Baker, his father Robert Daniel Baker (75), and family friend Zebulon Logan (45) of Lucasville. The trio was en route to Florida to pick up a newly purchased vehicle when the Piper PA 32 Cherokee Six went down in a field just north of the James A. Rhodes Airport in Jackson.

The pilot’s car was found parked at the airport, indicating their intended destination before the fatal crash. The wreckage was discovered burning near the roadway, prompting a response from the Jackson Fire Department. Despite efforts to extinguish the flames, all three occupants were found deceased at the scene. The Jackson County coroner transported the victims’ remains to the Montgomery County coroner’s office for further investigation.
